Haitus 2005

This is just to let anyone still checking in here know that I’m going to make this rather long lull in my blogging into a more formal break from it all.

I’ve a load of plans, personal and practical, definite and open-ended, for 2005. Among them lurk an idea or two for writing projects that are really only suitable for print publication, and will require a much more concerted effort of research (online and offline) than I’ve become used to of late.

Of course, I’m not banning myself from posting here in 2005. It’s just that when you’re not inclined to post very often, but spend at least a bit of time following other people’s blogs, there’s a certain psychological weight, a small, dull pressure of unwritten obligation. So this is just me cutting loose from that, to free up that energy and attention for something a little more sustained.

I’ll still be posting quick links regularly—they’re as much for me as anyone else—but no more even semi-regular blogging.

Hope you’ve weathered this seasonal mulch of reflection, waste, celebration, catastrophe, hypocrisy, family and revitalisation… And warmest wishes for a new year of doing what you will. Onward!
