Volume One was a gleaming, unexpected beacon of ideas and enjoyment for me last spring/summer when I sorely needed it. I was greatly looking forward to Vol. 2 -- and even submitting -- I suppose I will continue to do so, enjoying the suspense. Recently, during the collapse of the banking system, it became quite common to see mainstream reporters on TV crash slowly but surely into the realization that the foundations of our tottering system are <em>psychological</em>. The next step---seeing these foundations, in their dysfunctional relationship to the ecosystem, as <em>psychotic</em>---was left out, but its presence loomed large. The bail-outs and other fixes we're seeing are desperate injections from our dwindling supplies of thorazine, staving off the inevitable <a href="http://www.realitysandwich.com/spiritual_emergencies" rel="nofollow">emergency / emergence</a>. Things are starting to shift---why carry on pushing? I should note another, quite positive reason contributing to the suspension of the journal.
