Review
All arguments on the origins of art, religion and science are debatable; only a few are brilliant. Mithen brushes the edges of the latter elite grouping here with a coherent, original and effective theory about the emergence of the human mind. For more thoughts on this book, see my review of his “follow-up”, The Singing Neanderthals.
